A Student Activities tailgate party will launch the Blue-Out series at 12:30 p.m., followed by the kickoff at 1 p.m.
The Blue-Out games will continue throughout the year with giveaways, food and a chance to win free tuition.
The university will also continue the “Shot for Tuition” contest this school year.
During halftime of a women’s basketball game against Park University, each raffle winner will take a half-court shot. If a student makes the shot, the student will receive free tuition for the semester.
The Blue-Out games are designed to gather the MBU community together to cheer on their fellow students during games.
“Blue-Outs are a great opportunity for students to show their spirit and cheer their hearts out for MBU athletics,” said Lara Hines, director of student involvement. “They are a great way for students to come together as a community to support their fellow Spartans.”
Students can add more blue to their wardrobe with free Blue-Out T-shirts for the first 300 fans at the Oct. 22 women’s volleyball game.
This year, academic divisions will sponsor portions of the Blue-Out promotions.
During the men’s soccer game on Wednesday, Sept. 18, First Year Experience will give away T-shirts to the first 10 freshmen, and the first 75 fans will receive a rally towel sponsored by the Division of Health and Sport Science.
The remainder of the academic divisions will be announced at a later date.
