Spirit Wing Unites the Campus and Community through Musical Praise

Music ministry has been an important outreach tool at Missouri Baptist University for nearly four decades. As the different groups have come and gone, the longest lasting group is Spirit Wing, which strives to lead the campus and community in worship. The group began in the 1980s with an undergraduate student who is now the university’s president.

MBU’s Fourth Annual Faith and Research Conference Reaching New Heights

As this year’s theme focuses on, “Mental Health and the Wholeness of Creation,” the docket of presenters for this year’s Faith and Research Conference has more than doubled in size and scope, with twice as many speakers from MBU, across the nation and around the world presenting their research over the course of two days this week, Thursday, April 7, and Friday, April 8, in the Learning Center.

Students Make MBU Their Home Away from Home

MBU has attracted students from across the United States to its campus. From bonding with friends at “Up All Night” to cheering at volleyball games, MBU students have created a strong community, with friendships sure to last a lifetime.

The Voices that Strive to Bring Unity to the MBU Community

Missouri Baptist University’s Student Government Association works diligently every semester to promote unity in the community and bring the student body, staff and faculty together as one by having open conversations and listening to various opinions and points of view across campus. Voting for SGA members who will serve next year, during the 2022-23 academic year, continue throughout this week, with the winners being announced Friday, March 11.

MBU Professor’s New Book Makes the (Hair)Cut

History professor Dr. Keith Beutler has worked 20 years on his book centered on how Americans remember big events and eras. His recurring theme: George Washington’s hair and how it has been used as a political relic since the Revolutionary War.

MBU English Majors Present Culmination of Semester’s Work

After months of researching all manner of texts, followed by writing 25-page essays, students in a capstone course known as Senior Research Seminar in English are ready to share their work with the rest of MBU in a two-day mini-conference. The presentations will be at the Learning Center and are open to the public.

Just like the American flag gives its citizens a sense of loyalty and pride for their country, so is the hope for the Spartan Tartan, that when students and faculty see it around campus, they understand it is more than just a pattern, but rather it makes them feel like they belong to a community that is dedicated to education and centered around Christ.
