The MBU Spartans took on the St. Xavier Cougars at the university’s annual Homecoming game Oct. 19. Missouri Baptist University’s 2019 Homecoming proved to be bigger and better than ever as alumni, students, faculty and staff members turned out for a beautiful cool and sunny day in the Quad, with free food, games and the annual football game that followed.
As the 2019-20 school year drew closer, the men’s lacrosse team met for captain-organized practices. The extra stick-work and exercise ensured the team stayed sharp throughout the summer.
Missouri Baptist University’s annual Homecoming event brings alumni, students and family members to campus each year, culminating with a football game and, the night before, thePerk [23], a concert in the Muncy Gym that features a local act, MBU talent and plenty of free coffee and food. This year the event featured the St. Louis band, We Are Root Mod.
When students enter college, they often have a vision for their lives and a plan for the path they want to take. However, their interests may change over time, leading them to a place they never imagined. MBU Timeline field reporter Dylan White interviewed MBU students who found their plans changed since they’ve been in college and learned you don’t need to have all the answers.
MBU’s Service Day encourages giving back to others and helping those who are less fortunate or need to be touched with the love of Christ. The MBU community had the opportunity to spread joy to children in hospitals with Sharing Smiles and express their appreciation for those who served in the military with Operation Gratitude, all while having fellowship with each other.
In the spirit of Halloween, Photojournalism students experimented with exposure, long shutter speeds, glow sticks, fire and Halloween masks in our blacked-out studio. We adjusted our camera settings, set up tripods and created light effects around festive props to produce some amazingly spooky effects.
Student Activities surprised students with free Krispy Kreme donuts on a rainy Monday morning earlier this semester. Awakened by the morning thunderstorms, a donut and juice on students’ way to class was the perfect turn-a-round for the gloomy morning.
