Domino’s led the informal campus poll with six votes, while Little Caesars, East Coast Pizza, Papa Johns and Imo’s formed a crowded second tier as students and staff shared a wide range of preferences spanning national chains, St. Louis-style staples and hometown favorites.
Domino’s is the clear favorite among Missouri Baptist University students asked to name their go-to pizza place, earning six votes and topping a field of local and national chains.
Students from a range of majors, class years and even campus employees shared their picks in a series of man-on-the-street interviews conducted on campus.
“Hot take, but I’m a Domino’s person,” said Jennifer Jones, a sophomore double majoring in management and marketing.
Several other students agreed, including freshmen Miriam Linson, an exercise science major, and Ruger Govero, a business major.
Little Caesars, East Coast Pizza, Papa Johns and Imo’s tied for second place.
“Definitely Little Caesars,” said Anthony Ross, a freshman cybersecurity major. “They had a special where they put pepperonis inside the stuffed crust. It was so good.”
Multiple students pointed to East Coast Pizza in Chesterfield, including sophomore secondary education major Samuel Woodson and senior biology major Jordan Walker Wright.
Papa Johns also had its supporters.
“Papa Johns,” said Logan Bruce, a sophomore marketing major. Freshman nursing major Olivia Karlas and junior cybersecurity major Anthony McGuire agreed with the choice.
Imo’s drew a notable share of support as well.
“Imo’s because all other pizza that’s not St. Louis pizza is trash,” said alumni and Perk coffee shop manager Leah Starks.
“I have to say Imo’s. Not because of the pizza. … I think the appetizers are the winner. Those toasted ravs hit,” said alumni and MBU production manager Joshua Hunt.
“My favorite pizza place is Imo’s,” said Jarvis McCray, a deli employee in the university cafeteria. “I love their thin crust … the sauce, the provolone, it’s just good.”
Other students highlighted less common favorites.
Freshman biology major Dylan Johnson chose Joe’s Pizza in Herculaneum, about 30 minutes south of campus.
Junior management major Kadin Henderson said he prefers Katie’s, while freshman sports management major Chase Rhone recommended a newer spot called DD’s Pizzeria.
Some students named hometown favorites.
“My favorite pizza place is Minsky’s back home in Kansas City, Missouri,” said Kameron Durden, a sophomore who is undecided on a major. “It brings me peace and clarity whenever I take a bite. Just really good.”
“My favorite pizza place is Incredible Pizza in Memphis, Tennessee,” said Angel Jaramillo, a senior business administration major. “It’s already in the name — you should know why.”
Whether choosing national chains, St. Louis-style staples or nostalgic hometown shops, students shared strong opinions.
With six votes, Domino’s ultimately came out on top as Missouri Baptist University’s most popular pizza choice.
