Spirit Wing Unites the Campus and Community through Musical Praise
Music ministry has been an important outreach tool at Missouri Baptist University for nearly four decades. As the different groups have come and gone, the longest lasting group is Spirit Wing, which strives to lead the campus and community in worship. The group began in the 1980s with an undergraduate student who is now the university’s president.

Faces of the Great Outdoors
With the cool fall weather in the air, many students are spending time in the great outdoors. Students at Missouri Baptist University are busy competing in fall sports and enjoying fellowship with other students as we emerge from a pandemic that kept us hidden behind face coverings for more than a year. MBU photojournalists Patrick Griffey and Autumn Heaton captured the faces of MBU Outdoors, Spartan football and Spartan cheer that we have missed while they were hidden under face masks.
MBU Students Getting “Grounded” on Friday Nights
A new student-led ministry called Grounded formed this semester, which focuses on how MBU students can root themselves in the love of Christ and share the Gospel with the MBU community. Meeting each Friday night, the ministry challenges students to represent Christ regardless of their situations in life.
Easter Sunday Reminds Us of Blessings in All Situations
As Easter Sunday is upon us, we are able to reflect back on one of the most challenging years in the history of our nation. For some of us, Easter Sunday might be a time of questioning His presence during the difficult challenges of this past year. And our God is certainly big enough to answer all of life’s questions. For others, Easter Sunday is a time of reassurance that an almighty God sent his son to die on the cross for our sins, and rise from the grave to give us all hope for a future. Living Life on the Edge, Even During a Pandemic
In the midst of a global pandemic, it is important to have some sort of escape that allows you to get your mind off of things. Rock climbing has become a great way for these students from Missouri Baptist University to get outside and enjoy creation. When they spend time on the rock wall all of the stress from the pandemic goes out the window for a bit.
Service Day Brings Out the Best of MBU Students, Faculty
MBU’s Service Day encourages giving back to others and helping those who are less fortunate or need to be touched with the love of Christ. The MBU community had the opportunity to spread joy to children in hospitals with Sharing Smiles and express their appreciation for those who served in the military with Operation Gratitude, all while having fellowship with each other.
