Spirit Wing Unites the Campus and Community through Musical Praise

Music ministry has been an important outreach tool at Missouri Baptist University for nearly four decades. As the different groups have come and gone, the longest lasting group is Spirit Wing, which strives to lead the campus and community in worship. The group began in the 1980s with an undergraduate student who is now the university’s president.

Striving to Serve

As of fall 2018, MBU has implemented service days to take place each semester, during which students and staff can partake in service activities while also enjoying free food, yard games and live music.

Just when you thought Media Talk couldn’t possibly get any stronger, the Communications Department in the Fine Arts Division at Missouri Baptist University is featuring none other than Missouri Gov. Mike Parson, speaking at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, in the Chapel.

Meeting Where They Are

The radio, as we know it today, has been around since the early 1900s. While radio has changed, freshman Colton Albers finds himself shaking hands, promoting concerts and hanging with Christian music’s largest celebrities, all because of the 1895 invention.

Karen Leija: Her Passion for MBU Students

Karen Leija, who has been a food service consultant at MBU for 11 years, from the old cafeteria to renovations of the current “caf” today, said her favorite part of the job is witnessing MBU students grow into young adults year after year.
