Celebrating Christmas at MBU – 2022

With winter fast approaching and the air becoming crisper, jingle bells whisper in the wind as vibrant red and green colors begin to appear, meaning it must be getting close to Christmas time. This holiday season, MBU has put on a variety of activities and events throughout December leading up to Christmas break. Students had a blast participating in all the fun activities. Students who are a part of MBU’s Opinion Writing class also shared their favorite winter season foods as they look forward to spending time with friends and family during Christmas.
Capturing Missouri Baptist University’s 2022 Homecoming

Homecoming at Missouri Baptist University is always a blast, filled with some of the most anticipated activities of the academic year. This year, MBU’s Homecoming took place on Oct. 24-29 with events that catered to the entire MBU community, such as the Lip Sync Battle, Spartacus’ Birthday Party, Art in the Sunshine, Cornhole Tournament, Bonfire, Kaldi’s and Kolaches, Homecoming Tailgate Festival, football game and the famous thePerk [25] event. Once again, MBU students, staff, faculty and alumni alike were captured showing off their school spirt during this year’s week of Homecoming fun.
Spirit Wing Unites the Campus and Community through Musical Praise

Music ministry has been an important outreach tool at Missouri Baptist University for nearly four decades. As the different groups have come and gone, the longest lasting group is Spirit Wing, which strives to lead the campus and community in worship. The group began in the 1980s with an undergraduate student who is now the university’s president.
An Uncertain Future: Adapting to Changes from COVID-19
While coronavirus disrupted the latter half of the spring semester and all summer terms for the MBU community, the pandemic altered the plans of MBU seniors at a time when they would normally be transitioning from college life into the working world. As they face unanticipated goodbyes, a delayed graduation and an uncertain job market, MBU seniors are remaining optimistic in the face of their challenges.
A Season of Change for MBU
Last year was a time for change at MBU. Most significantly, President Keith Ross was inaugurated as Missouri Baptist’s seventh president in October 2018, and is now completing his first full year in the position.
Esports Hitting Stride at MBU
Esports began at MBU in the winter of 2015 through a volleyball coach, a student and a simple conversation that brought this team to life. Since then the team has grown, the facilities have become more high tech and sophisticated, and the program is finding a place among some of the best in the nation.

Just when you thought Media Talk couldn’t possibly get any stronger, the Communications Department in the Fine Arts Division at Missouri Baptist University is featuring none other than Missouri Gov. Mike Parson, speaking at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, in the Chapel.
