An Orchid For Your Thoughts

Orchids are known as symbols of love, beauty, and thoughtfulness. The Missouri Botanical Garden showcases these flowers in a special event every February, a fitting tribute to the month that seems to revolve around Valentine’s Day.

Easter Sunday Reminds Us of Blessings in All Situations

As Easter Sunday is upon us, we are able to reflect back on one of the most challenging years in the history of our nation. For some of us, Easter Sunday might be a time of questioning His presence during the difficult challenges of this past year. And our God is certainly big enough to answer all of life’s questions. For others, Easter Sunday is a time of reassurance that an almighty God sent his son to die on the cross for our sins, and rise from the grave to give us all hope for a future. So the question we are asking our journalism students to blog about today is: In this particularly challenging year, what does Easter mean to you? These blogs are Part 2 of a two-part series. Remember What We Celebrate at Easter

As we enjoy the Easter weekend, it’s an important time to take a moment away from studying for final exams and wrapping up final projects, a time to reflect on what this holiday means, a time to remember that God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins and rise from the grave […]

Amid the stress that follows every college student this time of year, it’s an important opportunity to reflect on the true meaning of Easter, when Jesus Christ died for […]

The Meaning (or Meanings) of Easter

As the Easter weekend arrives, students, faculty and staff members will be celebrating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior. Many consider these next few days to be the holiest of the year, while others reflect on fond childhood memories, while still others question if Easter has become too commercialized. Today […]

What Does Easter Mean to me Personally?

Easter weekend brings many meanings to many different people, communities and cultures. So, what does this Easter holiday mean to our students at Missouri Baptist University? So Much More than Bunnies and Hams

As we approach Easter Sunday, the most reverent day in the lives of Christians and the most important day in the history of mankind, how do we make sure it does not become just another day of colorful eggs, bunnies and spiral hams? How do we — collectively or individually — ensure that we recognize […]

What Does Easter Mean to You?

In a day and age where Easter has lost its meaning in many secular circles, it is important to be reminded that we are celebrating the very foundation of everything we believe as Christ followers. Easter eggs, bunnies and candy are great, but the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, which allows sinners […]

Why the Bunny?

The foundation of Christianity is Jesus and his resurrection. With such a prominent moment in history documented through the holiday Easter, how did the bunny come about? The symbol behind this creature and its origin is linked back to a pre-Christian era and makes more sense than it appears. Photo by Jordan Peters MBU students […]
