Easter Sunday Reminds Us of Blessings in All Situations
As Easter Sunday is upon us, we are able to reflect back on one of the most challenging years in the history of our nation. For some of us, Easter Sunday might be a time of questioning His presence during the difficult challenges of this past year. And our God is certainly big enough to answer all of life’s questions. For others, Easter Sunday is a time of reassurance that an almighty God sent his son to die on the cross for our sins, and rise from the grave to give us all hope for a future. So the question we are asking our journalism students to blog about today is: In this particularly challenging year, what does Easter mean to you? These blogs are Part 2 of a two-part series. Spring Break or Bust
From dog-sitting to mission trips, MBU students are participating in many different activities and events over Spring Break, or maybe just catching up on projects and homework … or maybe nothing at all.
Listening to the Lord, Leading by Example
When Ethan Metzler graduated in spring 2019, he believed his time at MBU was over. However, when the position of resident director at Pillsbury-Huff Residence Hall became available, he felt the Lord call him to lead the building of young men he was a peer with just one semester before. Regardless of the position change, Metzler continues to deeply and meaningfully connect with everyone he is around at MBU, pointing to Christ through his actions.
North Hall Residents Greeted by New Director
Missouri Baptist University’s North Hall begins the fall semester with a new resident director, and she may be a familiar face to many students and faculty members at MBU. Meredith Linn, a former North Hall resident and 2019 MBU graduate, is excited to again be a part of the MBU community and connect with the building of young women she has been called to lead.
MBU Community Strengthening Bond While Social Distancing
Specific aspects of college life like enrollment and group relationships are uncertain in this time of social distancing brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, and though it seems dark, there is light ahead. Despite what may be to come, a large group of friends at MBU is making the best of a bad situation and growing closer while remaining apart.
A Lost Season
Without warning, a 2020 spring sports season for MBU college athletes became a lost season because of the rampant virus, COVID-19. As they are still reeling from the news, MBU student-athletes have tried to pick up the pieces and look forward to the future.
