MBU Theatre Presents “Eurydice”
The MBU Theatre Department will be performing “Eurydice” this weekend at the Pillsbury Chapel. The show involves a different acting style than what the performers have done in the past, but many of the performers have enjoyed the learning experience they received.
Missouri Baptist University’s Tartan Embodies a True Spartan
Just like the American flag gives its citizens a sense of loyalty and pride for their country, so is the hope for the Spartan Tartan, that when students and faculty see it around campus, they understand it is more than just a pattern, but rather it makes them feel like they belong to a community that is dedicated to education and centered around Christ.
All Out, All Game, All Season – MBU Soccer
Soccer is a beloved fall sport at Missouri Baptist University. The Spartans ended the 2021 season with a 6-8-3 record. During the season, the Spartans won notable awards: Brandon Burton won AMC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 20, Louie Perez won Spartan Athlete of the Week on Oct. 4, and Nathan Brock won AMC Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 18. Just before the season came to a close, MBU photojournalists took to the field to capture the action and heart of Spartan soccer.
Climate Change: The Biggest Task Yet
What is the biggest threat humanity will have to face in the upcoming decades? In our current situation, many would assume that viruses may form a large risk in the future, yet the real danger is equally invisible but capable of far more than a virus: Climate change. While many fail to approach this problem or even deny its existence, experts are sure that humanity will have to resolve it soon before it is too late. But are we aware of how this problem developed, and more importantly, do we know how to stop it?
Faces of the Great Outdoors
With the cool fall weather in the air, many students are spending time in the great outdoors. Students at Missouri Baptist University are busy competing in fall sports and enjoying fellowship with other students as we emerge from a pandemic that kept us hidden behind face coverings for more than a year. MBU photojournalists Patrick Griffey and Autumn Heaton captured the faces of MBU Outdoors, Spartan football and Spartan cheer that we have missed while they were hidden under face masks.

Isn’t it great to see faces again this semester? Smiling faces, angry faces, laughing faces, stressed-out faces, praying faces … just seeing faces on campus is such a positive aspect of this current semester. ThePerk is one of students’ favorite locations on the MBU campus. In the fall of 2020, everyone at MBU wore masks because of the pandemic. As we continue to emerge from living through a season with required face coverings, MBU photojournalists Emily Heflin and Madisyn House capture some new and familiar faces that we can now see around thePerk.

We certainly do not need to be defined by our past, but at the same time we are inclined to recognize that our past informs who we are today, and who we become tomorrow.
