15 Minutes Down Under, Followed by Miracle of a Lifetime

John Smith fell through the ice of Lake St. Louis over five years ago and spent 15 minutes submerged under its frozen surface, leaving him dead for over an hour. However, the power of hundreds of prayers produced a miracle as Smith was revived without explanation and fully recovered from the incident. Two firefighters involved in the rescue operation, Christopher Fay and Joseph Morrow, were firsthand witnesses to the events depicted in the movie “Breakthrough,” released in 2019.

What Is Your Favorite Movie?

The 2020 Oscars air this Sunday, Feb. 9, and blockbuster films from 2019 like “Joker,” “1917” and “The Irishman” are all heavily favored for the coveted categories of best picture, best cinematography and best adapted screenplay. Broadway Artist Conducting Master Class at MBU

Quentin Earl Darrington, a Tony Award-winning actor and Grammy-nominated performer, is first and foremost a Christian, and he will be working with theatre students on campus to discuss how he manages those two distinctions, while also evaluating their work during a master class that is open to the public.

The MBU Spartans took on the St. Xavier Cougars at the university’s annual Homecoming game Oct. 19. The Spartans’ offense was productive, led by quarterback John Lux, who threw 22 completions for 370 yards and four touchdowns. The Spartans lost their Homecoming game, 45-34. Missouri Baptist University’s 2019 Homecoming proved to be bigger and better than ever as alumni, students, faculty and staff members turned out for a beautiful cool and sunny day in the Quad, with free food, games and the annual football game that followed.
