The Coldest Night in Baseball

Game one of the St. Louis Cardinals 2011 World Series was incredibly cold. Despite the frigid temperature that culminated in the air, my family and I experienced a core memory that would last a lifetime.

Shaping My Music Taste

My sister was the biggest influence on my music taste. I was a pre-teen when she was a teenager and I wanted to be just like her, everything from her fashion style to the music she listened to. She listened to pop stars such as Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift. Ke$ha’s debut album, “Animal,” was a huge hit among teenage girls because she wrote songs about experiences many girls go through growing up: having crushes, partying and being betrayed by a friend, to name a few.

Today’s story is the first in an 8-story series, and we are posting it at 12:19 p.m. local time (11:19 a.m. Mountain Time), which is exactly when two Colorado students walked into their high school two decades ago and began a killing spree that left 13 dead, before killing themselves, permanently altering our sense of security in schools.
