A Lost Season
Without warning, a 2020 spring sports season for MBU college athletes became a lost season because of the rampant virus, COVID-19. As they are still reeling from the news, MBU student-athletes have tried to pick up the pieces and look forward to the future.
What Is Your Favorite Movie?
The 2020 Oscars air this Sunday, Feb. 9, and blockbuster films from 2019 like “Joker,” “1917” and “The Irishman” are all heavily favored for the coveted categories of best picture, best cinematography and best adapted screenplay. In preparation for the Academy Awards, MBU journalism students went into the MBU community to discover the all-time favorite movies of students, faculty and staff.
Fun and Games at MBU Homecoming 2019
Missouri Baptist University’s 2019 Homecoming proved to be bigger and better than ever as alumni, students, faculty and staff members turned out for a beautiful cool and sunny day in the Quad, with free food, games and the annual football game that followed.
Homecoming Perks Up MBU Students
Missouri Baptist University’s annual Homecoming event brings alumni, students and family members to campus each year, culminating with a football game and, the night before, thePerk [23], a concert in the Muncy Gym that features a local act, MBU talent and plenty of free coffee and food. This year the event featured the St. Louis band, We Are Root Mod.
Ghosts, Ghouls and Glowsticks
In the spirit of Halloween, Photojournalism students experimented with exposure, long shutter speeds, glow sticks, fire and Halloween masks in our blacked-out studio. We adjusted our camera settings, set up tripods and created light effects around festive props to produce some amazingly spooky effects.
First Looks of the New School Year at MBU
As students returned to Missouri Baptist University this fall, they arrived with plenty to do, from sports practices to disc golf to Chapel and even a visit with the Stanley Cup. Today’s photo gallery, by MBU Timeline photojournalists, captures many of the sights around campus and around St. Louis.
